I'm just a bloggin' fool today!

Got lots of cleaning done, got lots of prep done, got lots of reading to do now, cuz M-I-L bought me "The DaVinci Code" in paperback today! She's so cool!!! *big grin* I'm in a REALLY good mood now! Now if I can just convince Hubby he needs sex tonight, I'll have a hat trick on my hands... oh...um...ahem, well, he takes his hat OFF, of course *wink*

Heh... I'm silly, aren't I?!

Hey Em... let J know that I'll be able to have that theological debate with him next time we come down to T.O. to see you. Oh, and also tell him, I don't think it's the Illuminati featured in the book, but Opus Dei, an offshoot of the Catholic Church (and unlike the Illuminati, they're a real group of people) that deals largely with mysticism and ritual.

*waves* back to the grindstone!

The difference between angels and faeries

I love Anne. She's hilarious. She comes up with stuff like this all the time and I laughed so hard when I read this one I just had to share:

Faeries are spread widely among pantheons of Bored Gods, but there's no mistaking them for angels.

Angels don't hide your car keys when you're already late for work.

Angels have wings made of feathers because they live so far away up in the sky. Faeries have wings like butterflies or insects, because they hover closer to earth.

Angels take messages to God. Faeries take messages, cut them up, and re-assemble them to make all new words.

Angels do their master's bidding. Faeries do "The Hustle."

Angels live among the stars. Faeries spill the contents of jars.

*giggle* See? Hilarious!

FEST!! FEST!!! FEST!!!!!!!!!!

Yippee SKA-WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Finally, my last bit of money cleared this morning and as of just about 10 minutes ago, I'm paid up and ready to go to Wic-Can Fest in June!

*happy dance for the rest of the day*

525,600 Minutes...

I just finished watching two and a half hours of a movie I spend 3/4 of the time bawling through. If the title of this post isn't enough of a hint, I watched the film version of "Rent" tonight. I have seen a LOT of stage plays (for someone with as little resources as I have, being a married mom of three), and nothing even comes close to this. Nothing. I don't think I could ever have lasted through the whole stage play. I would have been escorted out of the amphitheatre for bawling like a little girl with a skinned knee... for over two hours. If you are at all sensitive like I am, and you're planning on adding this to your Saturday 'movie night' do yourself a favour: make plans beforehand NOT to have a cold that can be exacerbated by a constant need to howl like a pack wolf in heat LOL.

I was so... MOVED... by this film, I can't even describe it to you. The whole premise of the movie was alien to me. All I knew about this musical was that it was set in New York and that it involved a bunch of friends living one year in New York. In retrospect, I'm thrilled that I knew next to nothing of the show's plot, because my reactions, I think, were exactly what the movie was designed to bring out... in everyone.

I remember at one point (just to completely change the subject), thinking "I wish *insert someone's name here* was here to watch this with me...she would have loved it!" After nearly two years, you would think that thoughts like that wouldn't cross my mind, but I was dismayed to find that they do. Frequently. Especially lately. She's cut herself off from everyone who loved her. Even the people she once considered family; people she shared a home with. They don't know if she's alive or dead, and the last time they saw her, she was painfully civil and cool (their words, not mine). It's as if, when she left our little town, the small town girl in her just perished, and what replaced her was a cruel, indecisive, aloof, numb thing that couldn't find her own heart with both hands and a flashlight (and a team of sherpas to help her). All I can think now is that she's going to have a piece of paper telling her she has a life, but all that her life will amount to is that little. piece. of. paper. Forget that she has a child. Forget that she has a family. All she'll really have is a slip of paper where a life once was.

That, to me, is more tragic than the story of "Rent".

Like watching grass grow...

Never before have I wanted anything so badly in my life. What is it? For PayPal to hurry up and take my last $50.00 out of my account so I can early register for Fest!!

I might even have a co-pilot *crosses fingers*. That way, if I get lost, I have someone to yell at LOL!!!!

Okay, okay, back to work. What a completely boring fucking day. All I've done all day is sit and dream and plan and get all excited over an event that's still THREE MONTHS AWAY!!

*sigh* I need a hobby!!

Ostara and other goodies!!

First of all...

A very blessed Ostara to you all! May the coming months bring you prosperity, joy and all the Love and Happiness you can handle!

I think I'm going to go home tonight and light a few candles, spend some time meditating in my room, in front of my altar and do a cleansing of the house in honour of Eostre. I've been terribly lax in my 'witchy duties', and I feel as if I should do something special tonight just to make up for it all...

What are you all doing for Ostara? Any special plans? I'd love to hear from some of you!

Okay, I'm done for now. Have a great day everyone!!

(x-posted from other blog) Baby Bonus, how I love thee...

Yes, my long-lost baby bonus came in this morning. And dammit, I was determined to SPEND IT! It was three months in arrears, a mishap created when we moved and forgot to send them our forwarding address, so when they tried to mail us something, they suspended it after three months of not hearing from us. Thankfully, we got all three months at once, and that yeilded:
A stainless steel microwave
A Wiltshire BBQ utensil set
Several club packs of various groceries (peanut butter, jam, honey, crackers, et al)
The entire original Star Wars Trilogy™ on DVD (in widescreen, no less!)
Two TFal™ deep-dish frying pans (one is an actual wok, I think)

And after I left C*stC*™, I went to Hell*Mart and bought...

*drum roll*

an Elliptical Trainer!!!
Okay, granted, it's not the piece of elliptical heaven that you'd see in your local gym, but keee-rist, am I going to have fun on that thing!!! I can't wait. Hubby bought a weight bench and several weights, and sometime this weekend he's going to draft me up an exercise regimen so I can get back into shape because...

Did I mention I'm going to FEST?!!!! SQUEEEEEEE!!!

Okay okay, enough. Just thought I'd update you on my excellent day of shopping my little heart out!!!

Thank you Mother!

You know, as long as I have been pagan, I have rejected one long-standing belief from when I was Christian: if you're having problems, give them all up to God(dess). Now I'm starting to see that simply asking for help from Her gets results I never imagined!

Not only do we have a wonderful new staff member, but we've now hired two more: one for Bank and one for Roydon. I trained the new girl in just under a week and my full time guy trained her on close. I'll do the same thing with the new guy who starts on Monday and C will train him a couple of nights on close as well. By mid-April we should be ready for the onslaught that is spring and summer at EP!! Talk about going from famine to feast in a week!!

Speaking of EP, did anyone watch Trading Spouses last night? Okay, I'm SO not a fan, but I'm going to be watching it next week as well as last night's. One of the family's (the father and the mother, specifically) both work for the head office of the company I work for!!! And the HOUSE they live in! Shit, I'm in the wrong department!!! This guy and his wife have the most beautiful house... just phenomenal. Too bad they treat their boys like shit... but we won't go into that. As eccentric as the other wife is (from the Ozarks), she's certainly a lot more put together than this spoiled rich man's wife who has never lifted a finger around her own house!

But enough of that, back to my prayers being answered! I wished for a good night's sleep, I got it. With some of our tax return, last weekend, Hubby and I bought a gorgeous bed. We haven't slept on a 'real' bed in almost 11 years. Our old bed was an Ikea special that was a mattress on slats; no boxspring. This new one is a deep-pocket mattress with a pillow top and I swear, I almost need a stepping stool to get up into this thing, it's that high up off the ground!! And COMFY!! My Goddess, no matter what position I sleep in, I'm comforable. Which, in and of itself is a miracle because I haven't been able to sleep on my left side since after Chrisco was born. I slipped and fell on the ice when I was about seven months pregnant with him and after that, my sciatic joint/nerves have never been the same. This bed is a dream come true for me!

So what's going on this weekend?! Well with baby bonus (which doesn't come in till next Monday, but I'm spending it anyway, heh) I'm going to be taking Peej (and the other two, of course, but they're just tagging along for the ride) into the city to get the poor kid some pants. Right now, he has TWO, count'em two pair of pants that fit him, and he's rapidly growing out of both of them. So off to Old Navy I go, because it's one of the only places where I can get Beanpole Deluxe (the carbon copy of his uncle!) anything that will fit him properly around the waistline!!

That's it for now I think, now that I've caught you up on my little life. Would love to hear from you all!!

It's a 'we'll see', BUT!!!!

I'm going to FEST this year!! YUPPPPPEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! Hubby has given a "we'll see" about me leaving him with the kids for five days, but he hasn't given me h-e-double hockey sticks about slowing seeping money into my Paypal account (yet, heh), so within a few weeks I should be able to submit my registration!! If anyone who reads this living between A-town and the Fest site needs a ride, I can prolly fit a couple more people in my wee car...

Now to figure out if I'm going to tent it or cabin it...

*dances around the store with glee*

I'iiiiiiiim going to Feeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssst!!!!

Here's one for Tedward!

My blog translated into Cockney!!!

Incidentally, Ted, I won't make it to the M&G next week. Me kidlet and me Hubby are going to the Palladium to watch a whole buncha goofoffs in tights and costumes slip and slide around on a sheet of cold water all night so I have to be home for the other two. Sorry :(
